33 Years Old, REGAINED 100% CONTROL OVER THE PELVIC FLOOR IN 4 WEEKS

 

It had been eight months since my big girl boy had entered this world, a journey marked by challenges and triumphs, leaving me yearning for the simple pleasures I once took for granted – such as going for a run in the park and laughing with friends over a drink.

 

My first weeks postpartum lingered vividly in my mind – the difficult birth, the overwhelming joy mixed with exhaustion, the recovery that followed. My little one, a bundle of joy, had made quite a fast entrance, leaving my body with a long road to recovery ahead.

 

And now, as the days grew lighter and temperatures became warmer, the feeling summer was around the corner was on my mind. And with it, the desire to embrace beach life again. Keen to slip into my old clothes and wear my old bikini contrasted with my dread for the gym and any urine leaks that would occur if we were to do jumping jacks. It was time to make strengthening my pelvic floor muscles a priority, not just for my own wellbeing but for the demands of daily life as a working mother.

 

Motivated by my return to work, I decided to tackle my weak pelvic floor. In my work as a nurse there is a lot of squatting and lifting, movements I was worried about would cause a leak. But time was running out, I had five weeks left. After downloading and installing the Carin Pelvic Floor app on my phone I decided I would do the exercises twice a day. Once in the morning, another in the evening.

 

At this point my baby was still not crawling and quite happy to play in the baby gym. I would set up my mat next to him. It was a bit distracting as he was so cute, but it also became a special moment in the day. I surpassed even my own expectations of consistency. And in the end all it took was four weeks of dedication and perseverance! After four weeks I had again regained full control of my pelvic floor. With each repetition feeling stronger and more resilient. The once daunting task of returning to work now seemed like a manageable feat. And as a plus I now fit into my bikini again! Win win.
